How to make a basic Refillable Polymer Covered Pen

You will need:
  • 1 oz clay in color of your choice
  • bic stik pen
  • pliers for removing pen ink tube
  • acrylic or tempered glass work surface 
  • acrylic roller or pasta machine
  • various canes of your choice
  • blade for slicing canes
  • corn starch
  • 400 to 1000 or 1500 grit wet-dry sandpaper
  • small dish of water
  • Verathane or Future (optional)

  Remove the ink tube by grasping it at the thickest part.   

 
 
Gripping just tight enough to hold on and not damage the ink tube, begin to twist the barrel of the pen back and forth until the ink is out.  Set the ink tube aside.
